Exploring the Colorful Village in Malang, East Java with my two year old girl, #SiennaLittleExplorer is so much fun! She loves it! This place used to be a slum area, but the local government was smart enough to magically turn it into a tourist destination by asking the residents to paint their houses with colors and fun murals.
Best view of the village is from the bridge. You can see the colorful roofs and walls with a river in between. So cute. Spend a few hours walking in the small alleys and don’t forget to taste the local snacks that the locals have in their small stalls in front of their houses! Or, if you’re lucky, sometimes you’ll bump into an old lady selling a sweet porridge called “Bubur Candil”. This dessert is locals’ favorite! 🙂
